Apple is known for their great iPod commercials, and those commercials and ads are crucial to the iPod’s popularity. Is it just me, or are there no Macintosh commercials or advertisements? Yes, there have been many famous ads in the past, but I have never seen an ad of a Mac Mini or an iBook. HP and Dell both market their PC’s very well, making deals with stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City, Cosctco, etc. I just think Apple needs to start thinking differently when it comes to marketing a product. But my guess is that Apple will start producing ads when releasing new Intel Macs. I just think it would be great to see an ad for a Mac Mini, and I think it would be very effective.
Maybe Apple is just too small to start advertising, it makes sense that iPods have commercials when they own a whopping 74% of the MP3 player market. Apple has just reached 6.6% of the market, when a year ago it was at 4.3%. In one year, Apple has increased their market share by 2.3%. Isn’t it time now that Apple starts to think about advertising and getting their PC’s in places where average people buy computers, like Best Buy? Intel, to me, seems like the perfect time to start marketing their Macs, and I’m pretty sure it will give a boost to the 6.6% that they own.
By the way, Intel has already planned that they are going to use different marketing tactics in January, according to TUAW. Intel is to begin a new marketing approach in January, along with getting rid of the “Intel Inside” slogan. I wonder if Apple had any part in that?

[…] It looks like my idea of Apple marketing with Intel Inside came true, and Apple made a commercial for the new MacIntels. The ad, if you haven’t seen it, is really amazing and it has a strong message. […]
