It was exactly one year ago on October 8th, 2005 when Appleology was first started. In celebration of its birthday I wanted to go back in time and reflect on my experiences for the past year.
Appleology has spans 246 articles and 289 comments, bringing the comment ratio above 1 comment for each article. Appleology’s had 113,801 visitors since last year, with a consistent growing number of unique and returning visitors. And according to Akismet, I’ve also gotten over 5,000 spam since Appleology’s return in June.
Appleology has really been a great learning experience for myself. I’ve learned more about Apple, iPods, and Mac OS X. I’ve learned more about websites, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I’ve learned new writing skills and techniques. I’ve learned how to communicate and network with other blogs/websites. And most importantly, I’ve learned how to help people with their Macs, communicate with others, and teach readers new tips and tricks.
I don’t want to go on and on about this, but I do want to thank all of you who have supported Appleology and myself over the past year. Thanks to Scott Dawson of Macsupport, Andy Merrett of the Blue Fish Network, and Laurence Anderson of amacgenius.com. And most of all, special thanks to all of my readers and contributors to Appleology who have supported me over the past year.
Here’s to another year of quality Mac-centric News, Rumors, and Tips for every Mac user!
