Rumors are saying that CBS and its associated networks are finally joining iTunes. Rumors appear to suggest that one of the oldest networks on television will join the iTunes database. Viacom and CBS recently split-up, and Viacom already offers some select shows on iTunes, but the CBS corporation does not.
If iTunes could partner with CBS and FOX, we could also possibly get NFL in the future. That would be a welcome addition for football fans and non-football fans alike, because a contract with the NFL has solidified past networks. FOX was suffering back in the 80’s and 90’s, but when they secured an NFL contract, its popularity soared, and now FOX is one of the top-rated networks. If iTunes would feature more content, such as NFL, it would no longer be recognized as a novelty medium, but as the future of television broadcasting.
